Otago Peace Day

In 2019, we arranged a significant event,  Otago Light of Peace, at the University’s Clocktower Lawn, which glowed with 150 lights for peace. In 2021, we are planning to organise another such meaningful event  ─ Otago Peace Day ─ which will take place on the 26th of February 2021 from 4.30pm to 6.00pm on the lawn in front of the Clocktower building at the University of Otago.

The event involves  meditation for one hour and is open to everyone, regardless of religion or belief. Our project expects that whoever participates in the event will realize their own inner peace and pass that on to others in society so that they can find real peace within themselves. Inner peace can inspire people to share peace, loving kindness and compassion in their societies. This event of peace can encourage people to think more about peace and to create more activities around the issue of peace in society.

Event Program
4.30 pm Arrive at the Clocktower lawn and find a seat
5.00 pm Welcome speech
5.10 pm Meditation led by Andreas Jansen, Senior Physiotherapist and Meditation Teacher
